Launch on Treasure Island
The first VAGABOOM! sessions took place in March 2008 on Treasure Island, hosted in collaboration with the local Boys and Girls Club chapter. Young participants explored rhythm, songcraft, and stage presence through guided exercises drawn directly from think13's live repertoire.
The launch set the tone for the program: small cohorts, dedicated mentors, and a focus on performance as a shared experience rather than a classroom exercise.
Non-Profit Structure
VAGABOOM! runs under the fiscal sponsorship of the IHCenter in Malibu, CA. This non-profit framework allows donations and program funding to flow through an established sponsor, while VAGABOOM! retains its identity as think13's educational initiative.
